On
the Gulf of Mexico, midway down the Florida Peninsula, is the charming community of Palm
Harbor. There you will find a combination of small town friendliness with the
amenities that large cities offer. Palm Harbor is close to the Tampa International
Airport. You can chose between and enjoy both salt water and freshwater fun and
sports. Palm Harbor borders on Lake Tarpon. Lake Tarpon is 5 miles long, 1 mile wide,
and generally 8 to 12 feet deep. The largest Bass catch (19lbs 5ozs) recorded in the
state was caught in Lake Tarpon.
Is golf your sport? You will find many gorgeous golf
courses. If you over do it, we have many health care providers. Many new businesses
are moving into Palm Harbor, partly due to the success of the ones already established and
because there is plenty of room for growth and development. There are over 65,000 people
in our unincorporated area. The projected population is 81,000 by the year
2001. In the period of 1980-19990 Palm Harbor had a growth rate of 210.47%.
Oldsmar is in the Tampa Bay area and we have many professional
sports teams including The Buccaneers, The Lightening, The Devil Rays, The Mutiny and The
Storm! In Orlando, which is close by, we have The Magic, a professional NBA team. Go
TEAMS!!
You can prosper here. It's a well-balanced economy, with
much diversity. You can reap the rewards of safe neighborhoods. A lot of newer
subdivisions were built in the 1980s and '90s. There are plenty of activities for the
young and young at heart. We are very proud of our 2 excellent high schools, Palm
Harbor University and East Lake High.
The historical part of town, with its whimsical shops, is a haven
for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of large Malls, which we also
have plenty of. There is a lot of history here! This is "old" Florida
at it's finest! We have a commitment to the families who live here; come and join us
in our pursuit of building a community that we all have a part in, one that will make for
a pleasurable future for all!
